FAQ-128

Please confirm that for JCP&L, hourly load data beginning August 1, 2022, does not need to be summed with excess generation data?

For data prior to August 1, 2022, to develop JCP&L load data that is consistent with how JCP&L load has been reported to PJM for settlement purposes, sum the hourly load data with the corresponding excess generation data reported in the BGS Data Room. This calculation can be used to develop JCP&L total hourly BGS Load, JCP&L total retail hourly load, BGS-CIEP hourly load, and CIEP Eligible hourly load net of excess generation.

Beginning August 1, 2022, excess generation data no longer needs to be summed with the hourly load data to derive net load. In other words, beginning August 1, 2022, all JCP&L hourly load data reported in the BGS Data Room is consistent with the JCP&L load reported to PJM for settlement purposes. The excess generation files were last updated on January 17, 2024 and only contain data through October 31, 2023.
