On April 22, 2026, the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (“Board”) issued a procedural order and initiated a BGS proceeding for the period starting June 1, 2027 (Docket No. ER26040105). On July 1, 2026, the EDCs filed their proposal for the procurement of BGS. By September 4, 2026, interested stakeholders filed their initial comments on all proposals.
On September 22, 2026, at 1:00pm EPT, the Board will hold a “legislative-type” hearing to take comments on the proposals for the procurement of BGS. This meeting will be conducted virtually, and will also be available to watch online here: https://youtube.com/live/0X4LW4G0Xpc
Final comments, which are due October 9, 2026, should only be used to respond to issues raised in the initial comments, issues raised at the legislative-type hearing, or questions issued by Board Staff.
